Cazenovia Recovery Systems, Inc. is a private not-for-profit corporation whose primary purpose is to provide a comprehensive continuum of community residential treatment services to men and women recovering from chemical addiction. To reach this mission, the organization must generate positive community awareness while providing overviews of its four recovery programs that encompass its five locations.
Before coming to Graphicon Services, Cazenovia Recovery Systems had an existing web site that had been developed several years earlier. In addition to the desire for a more modern web site, Cazenovia Recovery Systems' marketing direction had shifted due to increase in both its size and scope of services. They decided that the time had come to revamp the site, anticipating that it would offer a cost-effective medium to communicate the mission of the organization, its vision and continuously updated information regarding its ongoing operations.
Graphicon Services first met with key members of Cazenovia Recovery Systems to learn about their business, its goals and where they envisioned a web site fitting in. These sessions enabled Graphicon Services to put together a thorough proposal that outlined the process for developing a web site that Graphicon Services felt would accurately meet all the objectives set forth by Cazenovia Recovery Systems. Additionally, Cazenovia Recovery Systems wished to use Graphicon Services' News & Events web software that allowed their employees total control over press releases and other events on the web site.
The development process provided for appropriate levels of input from Cazenovia Recovery Systems on appearance, content structure and organization, while allowing Graphicon Services the freedom to develop the ideal web site "atmosphere." The process involved first brainstorming all marketing strategy and vision into a document called the Creative Brief. Graphicon Services then developed several potential web site layouts based on the Creative Brief. These layouts were then taken to Cazenovia Recovery Systems for approval and feedback. It was through these feedback sessions and rough drafts that a final design concept was chosen, incorporating elements from alternate designs.
During the development phase, Graphicon Services adhered to strict quality assurance standards which it confirmed by having the web site officially tested to meet with three vital standards: W3C HTML 4.01, for web page coding; W3C CSS 2.0 for presentation coding; and Bobby 508 Approved for compatibility with Internet devices designed for peoples with disabilities. Additionally, Graphicon Services performed a comprehensive assessment to verify that the site complied with rigorous internal quality standards. These standards ranged from grammar & spelling to verifying all page & email links.
Now the web site is delivering up-to-date news & events, commonly requested document forms for download and communicating a professional image to the public that is aiding in strengthening Cazenovia Recovery System's presence.
Feedback on the site has been great - and to quote Suzanne Bisonette, acting executive director of Cazenovia Recovery Systems, "Graphicon took our agency description and operational goals, along with our individual visions of a web site and created a site which tells our story."
William Burgin, Program Director at Cazenovia Recovery and also the project sponsor on the web site, had this to say - "This group of young professionals has redefined the term customer service."
