Since opening in March 1979, Polymer Conversions, Inc. has become a national leader in the Custom Injection Molding industry; offering 'turnkey' product solutions from precision Tool and Part design, CIM-monitored "six sigma" injection Molding, to complete Secondary Operations including decorating, assembly, custom automation and packaging.
Polymer Conversions is a well-established, nationally recognized company that, before coming to Graphicon Services, had a basic web site. With the technology on the web changing so rapidly, going from first-generation to second-generation to third-generation in a little under five years, Polymer Conversions was waiting until the appropriate level of capability and market maturity had arrived. They decided that the time had come to revamp the site, anticipating that it would leverage one year of their marketing budget into a solution that would provide value for several years to come. They also anticipated that a web site would offer both a cost-effective medium to communicate both their vision & mission and to deliver continuously updated information regarding their ongoing operations.
Graphicon Services first met with key members of Polymer Conversions to learn about their business, its goals and where they envisioned a web site fitting in. These sessions enabled Graphicon Services to put together a thorough proposal that outlined the process for developing a web site that Graphicon Services felt would accurately meet all the objectives set forth by Polymer Conversions. Additionally, Polymer Conversions wished to use Graphicon Services' News & Events web software that allowed their employees total control over press releases and other events on the web site.
The development process provided for appropriate levels of input from Polymer Conversions on appearance, content structure and organization, while allowing Graphicon Services the freedom to develop the ideal web site "atmosphere." The process involved first brainstorming all marketing strategy and vision into a document called the Creative Brief. Graphicon Services then developed several potential web site layouts based on the Creative Brief. These layouts were then taken to Polymer Conversions for approval and feedback. It was through these feedback and rough drafts that a final design concept was chosen, incorporating elements from alternate designs.
During the development phase, Graphicon Services adhered to strict quality assurance standards which it confirmed by having the web site officially tested to meet with three vital standards: W3C HTML 4.01, for web page coding; W3C CSS 2.0 for presentation coding; and Bobby 508 Approved for compatibility with Internet devices designed for peoples with disabilities. Additionally, Graphicon Services performed a comprehensive assessment to verify that the site complied with rigorous internal quality standards. These standards ranged from grammar & spelling to verifying all page & email links.
Now the web site is delivering up-to-date news & events, complete capabilities overviews and communicating a professional image to the public that is aiding in strengthening Polymer Conversions' presence. Feedback on the site has been great, just listen to Wendy Bertsch, Marketing Director at Polymer Conversions...
"From the first initial meeting at their offices, Graphicon Services had us feeling confident in not only their capabilities, but also the website's final outcome. They have proved that through perseverance and a personal need to learn every aspect of our company, that bigger doesn't necessarily mean better (which is something that PCI has also built a reputation for). The price was reasonable and the quality outstanding. We look forward to a long-term, mutually beneficial relationship with Graphicon."
