MyCustomBracelets was initiated for the sole purpose of manufacturing and distributing custom Italian laser-engraved charm bracelets. These bracelets have become a hot market that Avins Fabricating, the parent company, wanted to capitalize on. Prior to the web site, all sales were done through traditional distribution channels and in person at various sporting events.
The development process involved first conducting a complete requirements analysis of the current sales and fulfillment processes. It was quickly determined that certain levels of custom software would need to be developed to handle the complex product configuration and customization options that needed to be made available to online customers in order to earn their business.
In order to provide the easy-to-use environment that would allow visitors of all ages to design their own bracelets required complicated web browser programming and web server programming. The icing on this cake would be the ability for these two different technologies to smoothly flow and work with each other in order to provide a seamless visitor experience.
Once those technical hurdles were overcome, Graphicon Services customized its existing e-commerce software to allow the custom configured bracelets to be fulfilled with the greatest efficiency in conjunction with the existing fulfillment processes being used by MyCustomBracelets. A secure server with Internet merchant’s integration was required to provide for a secure, real-time checkout procedure for credit card purchases.
Distributors also use the site as an easy, error reduced method for communicating bulk orders. Special codes exist to track sales by distributor and/or promotion. This delivers easier ordering and a lower cost of doing business with the distributors, hence delivering increased sales.
Results from the site couldn’t be better: a 400% increase in sales over the first month alone! Feedback on the site has been spectacular – and to quote Clint Cornwall, Special Projects co-ordinator at Avins Fabricating Company, “The site looks great! Graphicon listened and made it happen.”
